The League was founded in 1898 and although it was not an official enterprise the appointments to the Order were sanctioned by the sovereign. It also had a place in the official Order of Wear. For more information about the League and the Order, please see the OMRS Miscellany of Honours volume 1.
I have only seen the certificate pictured in the OMRS Miscellany.
